Get inspired by the efforts of other states and advocacy organizations and go from there!
A strong campaign that clearly lays out the rationale for higher expectations in high school – particularly the connection between a rigorous high school experience and success in college and careers – can go a long way towards building public support for a major reform effort. Communications campaigns are particularly successful when they are grounded in research, are kept up-to-date and speak to various key stakeholders, such as parents, students, policymakers or educators.
This section includes examples of innovative state, national and coalition-based advocacy campaigns, case-making materials for the college- and career-ready agenda, and college access sites.
